Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 33 KOs) is only looking for one way to finish up his rematch with IBF, WBA, WBC, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs).
The fight is scheduled to take place on May 5th, for Cinco De Mayo weekend. The location has yet to be revealed, but most expect it to once again take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.
Last September, the contest took place at T-Mobile, with the contest ending in a controversial twelve round split draw.
Canelo feels that a lot of experts thought that he would get knocked out, but the opposite happened.
"And everyone already knows what happened. I made my fight and I think I won it but at the end the judges saw it as a draw. For that reason this second fight will be more interesting, more important," said Canelo to ESPN Deportes.
This time around, Canelo is training to secure a knockout victory. He is reluctant to allow the contest to reach the judges.
Because of the outcry that Golovkin may have been robbed on the cards in the first bout, there is a fear that the judges will give the champion the edge during close rounds.
"This time the judges will not have to decide the result with their scores ... I'm going to win my fight by knockout ... I'll be ready to win that way," Canelo argued.
Canelo is planning to train for the fight of his life. After going twelve rounds with Golovkin, in what was Canelo's first fight at the middleweight level, he feels very confident about the outcome of the rematch.
"I will be in my best shape. I'm going to have a great fight and I'm confident of winning. And I know that this will be a more interesting fight and that people will enjoy it better than the first," Canelo said.
