Khan Says He Would Have Pressed Mayweather To Fight in Jungle

Former world champion Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) is looking ahead at returning to the ring in 2018.

Khan has been out of the ring since May of 2016, when he moved up to a catch-weight of 155-pounds and was knocked out in the sixth round by then WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Bolton boxing then underwent surgery for a hand injury that kept him out for the rest of that year.

There was no fighting in 2017 for Khan.

He went through some marital problems for several months before reconciling with his wife. And then took part in the "I'm a Celeb" reality show where the Bolton boxer was forced to survive and go through a series of challenging tasks in a jungle in Australia.

In one of the reality show competitions, Khan was severely frightened after grabbing a snake - which the boxer mistook for a key.

Now that he's focused on his boxing career, Khan has not forgotten about Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) - and wishes that Mayweather would have been in the Australian jungle.

"I’ve been chasing that guy like how the snake was chasing me. I’d love to have that guy in the Jungle with me, I would not let him go anywhere. You have to fight me now," Khan said.

Mayweather, a former five division champion, returned to the ring back in August after two years of retirement. He stopped UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the tenth round of action, at T-Mobile.

Afterwards, Mayweather once again announced his retirement from the sport.

Khan expects to return in the first quarter of 2018, in the welterweight division. It's yet to be determined as to when or where he will fight. There is no shortage of opponents. Khan is managed by boxing powerbroker Al Haymon, who works with at least a dozen of the top names in the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions

在此次访谈中，卡汉除了刺激梅威瑟复出与之一战外，还独辟蹊径地提出，假如梅威瑟不愿意在拳台上交锋，那两人不妨共同来参与“拳手的野外生存与经历”栏目，比比谁在丛林中表现更好、坚守的时间更长。卡汉甚至将梅威瑟比作捉到过的那条毒蛇，认为即使是真的比赛，梅威瑟也逃不过那条蛇的命运，看来他真是想出名想疯了。

卡汉获得过2004年雅典奥运会银牌，步入职业拳坛后荣膺WBA、IBF双料超轻量级冠军，是一位技术精湛但下巴无比脆弱的拳手。目前，有消息称，卡汉会在2018年第一季度重返赛场，对手可能是同胞、英联邦次中量级冠军布拉德利.斯凯特（27-1,12KO）。
