Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. - when he was active - would tradionally fight in May during Cinco De Mayo weekend and during Mexican Independence Day weekend in September.
There are ongoing discussions for a major cross-sports boxing match with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
The deal with McGregor is closer than it's ever been - after McGregor came to terms with the UFC to fight Mayweather. UFC President Dana White is now hoping to reach a deal with Mayweather's side to finalize the bout.

Mayweather appears to be looking at September - but there is already a major pay-per-view bout scheduled to take place on September 16 - when Saul "Canelo" Alvarez challenges WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO middleweight king Gennady Golovkin.
“I gave Canelo my date the other day,” Mayweather stated, according to Boxing News. “September and May, because I’m Mayweather. Those are my months. May has to be my month because I’m Mayweather. May and September were always my months.”
