Oscar De La Hoya, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, has confirmed that even though Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) is the challenger - it will be IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin who will enter the ring first for their upcoming mega-bout. Canelo will challenge Golovkin on September 16th, in the main event of an HBO Pay-Per-View, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. "Golovkin is the champion, but Saul is the one who is at the helm of this promotion. Yes [Golovkin will enter first], that's how it's going to be," De La Hoya told ESPN Deportes. "Golovkin will come in first, because obviously the fighter who is the star of [of the fight] is the one who enters the ring last.
