A few days ago, WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders gave Amir Khan some heat for taking short money from a reality show when he could have made millions by facing his domestic rival Kell Brook.
It appears that Khan scored big, as he is reportedly the highest paid contestant in the history of the popular reality show "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!"
The record was previously held by Katie Price, who received ￡400,000 [$532,042] for her second stint on the show in 2009.

According to a report in The Sun, 30-year-old Khan has received a little more than Price's record figure for I'm a Celeb.
Khan's pay is far above his co-stars on the show, with some receiving sums as low as ￡25,000.
The reports that Khan was paid the large sum because of his well known name in the sport of boxing, especially in the UK, and being a former world champion. Khan's has also been all over the tabloids for the last few months, due to his recent marital woes with wife Faryal Makhdoom.
The pair acrimoniously split two months ago, following a number of bitter family feuds and public rows. Khan was planning to file for divorce, but the two reconciled one week before he jetted to Australia to be a paid of the show.
A source said: "Amir was a great get, but he came at a hefty cost. He’s going to be the best paid celeb they’ve ever had. Katie Price got somewhere close, but Amir’s is slightly higher again. He has plenty to gain in improving his public image — but he also wasn’t doing it for peanuts. ITV have dug deep."
Khan has been out of the ring since May of 2016, when he moved up to a catch-weight of 155-pounds and suffered a brutal knockout at the hands of then WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Khan plans to fight again on a date in February.

He failed his first I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trial after having to face his phobia – snakes. The boxer screamed in terror and shouted “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” as he got a bit too close to one of the slithery creatures in the Critter-cal Rescue task.
Khan, 30, and campmate Georgia Toffolo were selected for the first Trial in a public vote.

As they discussed what it might entail, a worried Khan admitted: “It’s snakes and spiders I can’t deal with.”
But Khan was able to deal with spiders, as he took up another challenge in the "Fright House."
Despite some trouble with spiders, Amir ended up taking the victory.
"This is the Fright House, inside are a number of rooms and in each room you'll find two locked doors, one has a green frame and one has a blue frame" explained Dec. Beside each door are instructions on how to unlock the doors and move to the next room. The first celebrity to go through all the rooms and escape from the Fright House and ring the bell is the winner and will feed their camp tonight," Khan and the other contestants were instructed.
Amir got to the final room first, but screamed as he found it was full of spiders.
"I don't do spiders" he said.
But Khan managed to get all the keys, unlocked the three padlocks and left the Fright House to ring the bell, meaning he was the winner.
The Bolton star's antics and screams on the show, have quickly made him a fan favorite among the show's loyal viewers.
Khan has been inactive from boxing since May of 2016, when he moved up to a catch-weight of 155-pounds to challenge then WBC middleweight world champion Canelo Alvarez.
In what was the very first boxing event to take place at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, Khan got off to a good start but he was knocked out cold in the sixth round. A date in February is now being explored, according to Khan. |
