Mexican superstar Saul Canelo Alvarez is still fully focused on one goal - to unify the entire middleweight division.
He takes the first step to that goal on Saturday night, when he stakes his WBC, WBA middleweight belts against IBF world champion Daniel Jacobs on Saturday night, May 4th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
"It means a lot [the fight against Jacobs] because I have the goal of being a champion of the four sanctioning bodies, which is something that very few have achieved in the history of boxing, so it's the first step to achieve that, it's a very important fight for me, but we are ready, " Canelo said.
Canelo captured the WBC, WBA titles in September 2018, when he won a close twelve round decision over Gennady Golovkin.
The Mexican star is not concerned with Jacobs' physical advantages, like height and reach.
"The experience of being here is always very nice for me and I'm grateful for the support that people give us," said Canelo.
"There are always risks in boxing and a fighter like Daniel Jacobs knows how to manage risks very well, but I'm ready for this and for more, I think that my experience, having fought with all kinds of fighters, gives me the experience of being able to be ready for all this. For me, [Jacob's physical advantages are] not a problem, a fighter has to adapt to all kinds of circumstances so this is one more and I'm going to adapt, surely."
Canelo hopes to close the show before the official scorecards.
"I always visualize it, I visualize the knockout. I hope it happens for me, but otherwise I'm ready for anything," Canelo said. "I will continue to fight, I'll continue trying to make history and destiny will tell me where I should be positioned."
