Recently crowned IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. (22-0, 18 KOs) hopes to get his next ring assignment in the very near future.
The Texan has recently made it known that he is interested in facing WBC/WBA champion Keith Thurman in an unification bout and also is interested in facing former two-division champion Danny Garcia.
In fact, Spence is so interested in securing Garcia that he recently made it clear that he would forgo a planned fall homecoming bout in order to secure a big fight.
Spence was also recently asked if he thought a fight against WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford could happen in the future.
"robably, Terence is doing his thing at 140. I see Terence becoming the undisputed light welterweight champion and then moving up to 147 so it will probably happen," said Spence.
Crawford (31-0, 22 KOs) is known both for his boxing ability and his power and Spence thinks that combination would make for an exciting fight.
"It would be a great fight. He's a good fighter and a good boxer and he will also fight if he has to. It would be great," said Spence.
Spence was last in action back in May, when he traveled over to Sheffield and stopped Kell Brook in eleven rounds to secure the IBF championship. He is expected to fight again in the fall.
Crawford faces undefeated IBF, WBA, IBO super lightweight champion Julius Indongo in a high stakes fight on August 19th in a rare five belt unification. The contest will be televised on ESPN as part of Top Rank's new television deal with the network. His promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, recently stated that Crawford would fight again in the fall - with the opponent being dependent on the outcome of next month's fight.
