A despondent Deontay Wilder lashed out at Luis Ortiz in a series of videos posted to his Instagram account Friday afternoon.
Wilder doesn’t believe Ortiz was taking the two banned diuretics for which he tested positive to control his blood pressure. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion, who was supposed to oppose Ortiz on November 4 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, is certain Ortiz used hlorothiazide and hydrochlorothiazide as masking agents for other performance-enhancing drugs.
Wilder warned Ortiz during a press conference September 20 in Manhattan that the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association would catch him if Ortiz used PEDs prior to their title fight. Nine days later, Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) is disgusted by the fact that he won’t get the opportunity to record what would’ve been viewed as the best win of his nine-year pro career had he defeated Ortiz (27-0, 23 KOs, 2 NC).
“Motherf***er sitting up here lying, like blood pressure medicine,” Wilder said during one of his Instagram videos. “And first off, you got to tell VADA what you on, first off. If it was that serious, why wouldn’t you tell them that. Why wouldn’t you tell VADA that you was on blood pressure medicine? That’s the first step. Why would that be a big secret? When they are finished taking a blood sample or a urine sample, you have on the form, you have an opportunity to write down what all you’re taking, what all you’re on. Why wasn’t that part filled out? Because y’all are f***ing liars. Y’all are f***ing liars, and you’re are scared.”
The 31-year-old Wilder still is expected to fight November 4, but against a replacement for Ortiz (http://www.boxingscene.com/wilders-handlers-considering-ortiz-replacements-november-4--120936).
“All y’all should be scared of me, though,” Wilder continued. “All y’all should be, because I’m the devil of this division. All y’all should be scared of me. And then lying to these people, like it’s blood pressure medicine. Man, get the f*** outta here. That’s why you missed your flight. I was on that, too. That’s why you missed your f***ing flight. Talking bout you was in the airport all night and you missed the flight. Y’all are f***ing liars. We was already on that. … Man, there’s so much sh*t. It’s so much sh*t, y’all gotta be careful what y’all do, where y’all be, because people are looking and watching. And my people was on it, man. You mother***ing liars. Y’all didn’t wanna fight me, man.”
