Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), says there are two options in the aftermath of his boxer's next bout.
Joshua will unify his belts with WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Deontay Wilder, who last Saturday night retained his WBC world title with a knockout of Luis Ortiz, will be sitting ringside to call out the winner.
Wilder was nearly derailed last weekend, when Ortiz had him in serious trouble during the seventh round. The puncher was able to recover, and then drop Ortiz two times in the tenth for a knockout victory.
The win is being compared to Joshua's big comeback to secure his knockout win over Wladimir Klitschko in April 2017.
If Joshua overcomes the challenge of Parker, than a showdown with Wilder will be explored.
But if Hearn's unable to reach an agreement with Wilder - then he plans to have Joshua make his United States debut - and unbeaten contender Jarrell Miller has been mentioned as a potential opponent.
"The fight with Anthony Joshua is unquestionably the biggest fight in world boxing and anyone that knows me knows how much I would love to stage a fight like that," Hearn told Gareth Davies of The Telegraph.
"The Wilder fight is the one. It’s the biggest fight in world boxing. If we can’t make the Wilder fight, then Anthony Joshua should fight in America next."
“The options are that we go in August in American against someone and then Deontay Wilder, or straight into Wilder. But if we do Wilder it will probably be October, November, December."
But Hearn makes it clear that his fighter is in no way overlooking Parker.
"If you know Anthony you will know he will fight anyone but for now there is only one thing on his mind - Joseph Parker in a spine-tingling unification match up on March 31," Hearn said.
