Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum thinks that Vasyl Lomachenko will eventually move up in weight one more time, but says he's "way too small for Welterweight".
On May 12th, Lomachenko became a three-weight World Champion after dethroning Jorge Linares, picking up the WBA and Ring Magazine belts to add to his WBO straps at 126 and 130 pounds.
Another one of Top Rank's leading lights, Terence Crawford, cleaned out the Super-Lightweight division last year and now challenges WBO welterweight titlist Jeff Horn on June 9th, live on BoxNation.
Speaking on the latest BoxNation Podcast, Arum was asked if Lomachenko and Crawford plan to keep on entering new weight divisions.
"Well we'll have to see. I can't really determine that, to see how their body is going to be bigger, whether they can bring their strength up to another weight division.
"I think that, as far as Lomachenko, the best we can hope for is maybe 140 pounds, junior welterweight [super-lightweight]. He's way too small for welterweight.
"Terence, I think probably this is the highest he's going to be. He was the lightweight champion, the junior-welterweight champion, now he's going for the welterweight championship. I don't see him going further than that," admitted the 86-year-old.
Lomachenko is currently recovering from surgery on a torn labrum in his right shoulder, suffered in the second round against Linares. The Ukrainian hopes to unify with Mikey Garcia or Ray Beltran when he returns to action.
If Lomachemo moves up once again to 140 pounds, Arum revealed that Britain's Terry Flanagan could be a potential opponent.
"Frank Warren's been calling me, he says that Flanagan is going to win that fight [v Maurice Hooker]. He thinks that Lomachenko fighting across the pond sometime soon would do massive business," he told Steve Lillis.
